Steve Gleason is a former NFL player, advocate, and symbol of perseverance whose impact extends far beyond the football field.

After a standout career with the New Orleans Saints, Gleason was diagnosed with ALS in 2011 at age 34. Doctors gave him three to five years to live. 15 years later - now a father of two, a catalyst for life-changing legislation, and a force behind countless transformed lives - he continues to fight with strength and purpose.

Through Team Gleason, the nonprofit he co-founded with his wife, Steve has helped individuals with ALS live more purposeful and fulfilling lives. Since its inception, the organization has provided over $55 million in technology, equipment, care services and life-enriching experiences to ALS patients and their families, while also advocating for the resources and research necessary to end the disease.

Steve’s memoir, A Life Impossible: Living with ALS: Finding Peace and Wisdom Within a Fragile Existence, was released in 2024. It offers a deeply personal reflection of love, resilience, and the search for meaning in the face of profound adversity.
